The Southern Appalachian International Film Festival

Welcome to the Southern Appalachian International Film Festival, (SOAPIFF) where one can watch world-class films within minutes of glorious hiking trails through the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. The purpose of SOAPIFF is to publicly recognize, promote, and preserve the work of independent filmmakers and encourage film production and film culture in Southern Appalachia.

The famed Nolichucky River offers class one to five rapids to suit one’s fancy for whitewater, while those interested in mountain or rock climbing and spelunking will find numerous opportunities for adventure. Swimming and boating opportunities can grant a delightful retreat on the many East Tennessee area lakes. The SOAPIFF environment offers a natural playground for fun by day and inspiration of creativity by night! The Tennessee Consortium of International Studies represents nineteen colleges and universities devoted to making international education and cultural understanding a central goal of higher education throughout the state of Tennessee.
